is a hanging marine life installation art piece located at the Lantana Public Library in Lantana, Florida.

The ocean is teeming with life, full of an underwater seascape to research and understand. Reeference takes a closer look at the creatures that could be found on the reefs at the ocean floor just a short swim from Lantana’s shoreline. This artwork provides a reference for the information that can be discovered about Atlantic marine species inside the books on the shelves at the library, and further uncovered through the adventures of an aquatic explorer.

This ocean inspired public art piece contains a swirl of sea creatures. There are ten varieties of Atlantic marine species that can be spotted and identified by curious children as they sit below, reading their books.

The artwork’s composition is inspired by ocean explorations and the composition generates a perspective of looking up as if you were sitting at the ocean’s floor. Imagine floating just above the sand, looking up at the cascade of marine life overhead.
